Let It Snow - My First Card for SUO DT

It's so lovely to share with you my first card as a Design Team Member for Stampin' Up! Only Challenges (Someone pinch me!).

The theme is 'Let it Snow' and even though I live in the Southern Hemisphere and we're heading towards Summer, most Aussies still love the 'Traditional Winter Christmas Theme'.

The easel card base was made from one of the digital punches from the Festive Flurry Kit Digital Download (MDS) and cut out with my e-Cutter (Pool Party Card Stock) -
The circles for the base and front panel of the card were e-cut using the Digital Circle Punch (MDS) from Whisper White, Brushed Silver, Night of Navy and White Vellum Cardstock.

The main stamped panel was inspired by a beautiful card I spotted on Stampin' Connection called Snow on Vellum, made by Natasha Schwecke.  The fine splatter image from the Gorgeous Grunge Set was stamped onto the White Vellum with Versa Mark Ink and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The tree and deer image from the Hostess set, Warmth and Wonder, was stamped and heat embossed using White Embossing Powder.  Night of Navy, Staz-On White and Pool Party Ink were sponged onto the vellum to add some background colour.  Lastly, Dazzling Diamonds with the Two-Way Glue Pen, was sprinkled onto the scene to form the ground layer of snow.

To complete the card I stamped the tiny snowflake from Warmth and Wonder onto the outer parts of the snowflake, added some Rhinestones, a sentiment and a Frosted Finishes Embellishment.

Here's a little something extra to show you that you can also use a digital stamp (MDS), in this sample, the Snowman from Jolly Bingo Bits, and convert it into a cutting file to make a shaped card.

The buttons and face were punched from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and Owl Builder Punch.  Retired Real Red Spotted Ribbon and a Glimmer Brad was used for the scarf.

Be sure to check out all the other 'snowy creations' from the SUO DT and take some time out this fortnight to play along.

Thanks so much for stopping by to share in my excitement over joining the SUO DT.  I was thrilled to get an email from Robin Messenheimer asking me to join their amazing team of designers.  It has been a busy and challenging year with my 'day job' and I have had to turn down a few DTs as well as shut down my own challenge blog in order to not 'overload' myself with commitments.  Fortunately, there are only 4 weeks left until Summer break and I am really looking forward to some more time to devote to all things, 'stamping, cutting and card making' in 2014.

Happy Birthday Anne Marie

The beautiful Anne Marie Hile is celebrating her birthday and I have joined in with the 'Linky' party to wish her the happiest of days!

I got to know Anne Marie when I was on the very first Design Team for Dynamic Duos and these days we keep in touch through Facebook.

I heard she likes all things, 'pink and girly' so I have made her one of my Butterfly Easel Cards to wish her a very happy birthday.

Hip, hip hooray!

This card has been electronically cut using my Silhouette Cameo, then stamped, embossed and sanded for the finished look.

Christmas Workshop Make 'n' Take - Flying Easel Gift Card Holder

Hi.  This is the card that I finally decided on for my Christmas Workshop Make 'n' Take

Just for that little something extra, I decided to add an additional label to form a pocket, so the card becomes a gift card holder as well.

Here's some snap shots of the lovely ladies that came along last night.  They were pretty pleased with the way their cards turned out.

Festive Flurry Flying Easel Card for SUO

Wow! my third post in one day.  This is the second go at making a Flying Easel Card (lots more inspiration can be found on my Pinterest Board - Cards - Easel/Pop Up).

If you have been following my little 'melodrama' you will realise that this is my third attempt at trying to come up with a Make 'n' Take for my Christmas Workshop tomorrow night.  I'm pleased to say that a little bit more tweaking meant that the 4th card 'hit the nail on the head' so to speak and I will post that one tomorrow.

I was really pleased with all the silver glitter teamed with the beautiful, Coastal Cabana. At the last minute I decided that the front turned down panel needed something in that space, so I added 'Mum' using some retired alphabet dies.  That makes me super organised for a Christmas card for her (a rare thing).

I am entering this card into SUO Challenges #83.  It is all about using your Favourite Sentiment and the Prince of Peace would have to be my favourite Christmas Stamp for the 2013 Festive Season.

Thanks for stopping by,

Ornament Easel

This is my first go at a 'Flying Easel Card'.  I have been trying to come up with a fun design for a Christmas Make 'n' Take and this one didn't make the cut either.  It's a little 'ho-hum'.  Great sentiment stamp and mechanics but it just doesn't have that 'wow' factor.

You'll be pleased to know that I did get there in the end and I will post the actual Make 'n' Take card tomorrow.

Happy stamping!

Festive Flurry Tea Light Card

My Festive Flurry Kit arrived this week so I have been busy preparing for my Christmas Workshop which is on Monday night. This is one idea that didn't quite make the 'cut' for the Make 'n' Take.  However, it is reasonably 'blog worthy' particularly since I haven't shared anything here in the last fortnight.  I have officially entered the crazy, silly season and will resume normal 'life' in about 6 weeks time! :)  Roll on Summer holidays.
