I'm enjoying spending some extra time in my craft room and a couple of days ago I finally got around to making a Scalloped Tag Topper Punch card with a matching mini gift box. I love how they turned out and wanted to make another 'set' using By the Tide.
The latest challenge atJust Add Ink provided me with a gorgeous colour combo and a very good reason to leave the housework for another day.
Hi. Welcome to addINKtive designs. I'm on holidays at the moment and am enjoying spending a bit more time in my craft room and thought it would be fun to enter a challenge.
I absolutely love the colour combo for the latest challenge at Colour Q and used it as a 'springboard' for a couple of projects that have been on my 'to do' list.
The Gorgeous Colours for this Week's Challenge
There's so many different types of cards and boxes all over Blogland and Pinterest which have been created using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch (SU). Yesterday, I finally got around to making two of my favourites in preparation for a team get together.
I was scoring the card stock for the mini box and realised I had cut out the wrong measurements. Eeek! It was my last piece of the floral pattern in the Natural Compositions Specialty DSP so had to make the so called 'matching' box from a different pattern. Oooops!
The Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Card
You can find the instructions on how to do the Tag Topper Punch Closure for this card HERE.
The Mini Box
This cute little box is just the right size for a tea light candle or soy wax melt.
You can find the instructions on how to make it, HERE.
Today I'm continuing on with the Linen Thread theme but have moved onto using the Natural Composition Specialty Designer Series Paper and Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die.
The first two cards were inspired by THIS one I spotted via Pinterest.
The next card was the last one that I made on Tuesday and it became obvious that it was time to call it quits. My mojo had well and truly disappeared, so I cleared my craft desk and got ready to try some projects with the Scallop Tag Topper Punch. More about those in the next post.
Thanks so much for stopping by,

Yesterday I made 6 cards. That was an amazing effort for me and not one thing was e-cut (smile). All I can say is "Yay for holidays!"
I had a bit of a 'Crumb Cake' card base, 'Natural Linen Thread, twirly thing' happening and here is the third card in the line-up.
It's based on the same sketch (from SU) that I used for the two cards in my earlier post today, except this time I inked up By the Tide (I love any stamp sets with a beach theme and Seaside was my first SU stamp set purchase way back in 2008, which lead to me becoming a demo).
By the Tide
I'm fiddling around trying to come up with THE swap for Stampin' Up! Convention in Melbourne which is happening in 4 weeks time! Eeeek! ... just getting a little excited as I haven't been to one in 3 years and I just can't wait to catch up with my stamping buddies once again.
This isn't my SWAP but I know that I do want to use this stamp set and ... of course some twirly Linen Thread. I'll see what emerges over the next few days until I have that 'Aaah ha moment'. Stay tuned.
Here's a tip for twirling the Linen Thread -
1. Wrap the thread (or twine) around two fingers, then three, then two again.
2. Thread end through all loops and tie a knot to secure.
3. Attach to the back of the label so looped bits appear at the top and the end pieces at the bottom.
Hope that helps as it can be a bit fiddly.
Stamp Sets: By the Tide, Label Love, Six-Sided Sampler, Gorgeous Grunge

Have you seen the 'twirly Linen Thread' craze that has popped up on cards all over Blogland? It's fun to see the different ways designers have used it to add texture to an embellishment.
I first spotted a sample on the Stampin' Up! ® Website and 'pinned' it for future reference. You can see it HERE.
Wow! That was 26 weeks ago and I've just got around to 'CASE'ing the gorgeous design. Instead of the Dictionary Background Stamp, I used Off the Grid in my first project and the beautiful flourish stamp from Creative Elements for the second card.

2 - Creative Elements Bitty Butterfly
Thanks SU for giving demos an amazing array of sample projects touse as a 'springboard' for our own!

Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Old Olive (1), Wild Wasabi (2)
This fortnight at SUO Challenges we are Featuring Flowers. There are so many gorgeous Stampin' Up!® stamps, die cuts, punches ... that have beautiful flower images or shapes, it was difficult to choose which set I would feature on my card. After much deliberation, I whipped out one of my favourite Hostess sets of all time, Morning Meadow and came up with this arrangement and the soft colour combo of Soft Sky, Always Artichoke and Smoky Slate.
Accessories: Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder (sponge daubed with the three colours before running through the Big Shot), Framelits - Window Frames, Circles Collection and Banners, Punches - Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and Pansy, Basic Pearls, Paper Piercing Tool and Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Natural Trim, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Vintage Trinkets, Dimensionals
I hope you will play along over the next fortnight and share your SUO Floral projects with us.
Don't forget to link up your Easter Projects at SUO Challenges this week!
Thankfully my friend (and down-line) came around on Monday night and helped cut the ribbon and assemble most of the little 'thrones' for the bottom section of each box while we chatted and drank Mochas. Thanks, Candice. You are such a blessing in many, many ways.
