An Easter Basket with Painted Blooms, Cotton Twine, Crochet Flowers for CTC 24

Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs.

As it's only less than a week until Good Friday, CASE-ing the Catty Challenges are looking at the Easter section of the Occasions Catalogue (page 34 and 35) for our challenge inspiration this week.
  • You can directly CASE a project (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.
  • Or simply use some new Stampin' Up! Easter supplies from the Occasions Catalogue.

CTC 24 will run for two weeks over the holiday period and the linky will be open until Thursday 9th April. We really hope you can join us in the gallery and showcase your Easter projects.

Here's my project for CTC 24 - Let's Celebrate Easter

The basket is cut from the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (SAB) with the new Berry Basket Die and sponged with Soft Sky Ink.

The handle is punched using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and Soft Sky Card Stock.

I filled the basket with some spotty egg decorations and grass.  The best part was crocheting the triple layered flower from the new Painted Blooms Cotton Twine and then adding an Antique Brad to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you can play along with us at CTC this week.

Freshly Made Cupcakes and Confetti

Hi there.  Welcome to addINKtive designs.

A week ago I made a fold over window card and really loved the design so much so that I wanted to create another.  This time I used LeAnn Greff's Tutorial; followed her measurements but used a balloon die instead of the circle punch and made this birthday card for one of my nieces.

I have used three challenges today for inspiration -

FMS 178, CC 31, AW 37

Card Style: Classy and Elegant

A Fold Over Window Card
Confetti stamp from Celebrate Today stamped with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a Window Sheet (acetate).

Cupcake Party Stamps and Cupcake Builder Punch teamed with Birthday Bash Specialty DSP.

Project Recipe:

Stamps:  Cupcake Party, Celebrate Today
Card Stock:  Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Calypso Coral
Ink:  Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, Versa Mark
Accessories:  Balloon Framelits, Cupcake Builder Punch, Birthday Bash Specialty DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Banner Framelit, Thick Baker's Twine

Thanks so much for stopping by,

PS:  Thanks FMS DT -

CTC Meets JAI - An Easter Egg Throne Box

Hi there and welcome to addINKtive designs

JAI 255 and CTC 23

I was inspired to play along with the latest challenge at Just Add Ink to Just Add Eggs or Ovals because I was planning to make an Easter Egg Throne Box today and as you can see, that contains both an oval and an egg.  Bonus!

When I was trying to decide on the embellishments etc., I opted to use a combination of SALE-A-BRATION and Occasions stamps and accessories, to fit in with the challenge at CASE-ing the Catty and join in on my 'off' week.  Double bonus!!

SAB Goodies:  In Colour Accessory Pack (Thick Baker's Twine and Small Designer Buttons), Stamp Set - Lotus Blossom
Occasions Catalogue Items:  Stamp Sets - Painted Petals and Butterfly Basics, Sahara Sand Lace Trim, Ornate Tag Topper Punch

I made about 20 of these boxes last year for the staff at work and I think my 2015 Easter Egg Throne Box would be perfect for my mum this time around.

Here's a link to the tutorial if you would like to make one for yourself - http://simplysimplestamping.com/video-tutorial-easter-egg-throne-box/

Photopolymer Stamp Set - Project Life Point and Click

I have a confession to make, I'm not a scrapbooker and I did start off all enthusiastic about the introduction of Project Life, acquired quite a bit of stuff to get me started and I even bought a new Canon Digital Camera, but I haven't had the motivation to go down that path just yet.  Maybe one day when I have a bit more time on my hands, I'll give it my best shot.

I really scratched my head wondering what on earth I was going to make for this 'hop' and then the light bulb moment happened when I decided to download the digital version to use with my e-cutter and combine it with the photopolymer stamp set to make a little gift bag using the Cool Like That Giftable Templates.  So here's my one and only project to share with you today -

Point and Click Meets Cool Like That Gift Bag
The colour palette is taken from the Everyday Adventure Project Life Card Collection and I have cut up a couple of the cards to use as DSP on the gift bag.

Thanks for stopping by on the hop.  Up next is Kerry Willard Bray from Peonies and Paper Chains.

Or back to Wendy Weixler from Wickedly Wonderful Creations.

If you want to stick around a little longer, here's a run down on how I made the gift bag -

1.  Download the Cool Like That Giftable Templates (page 10 of the Annual SU Catalogue) and PL Point and Click Digital Download into your e-cutter program.

2.  Position the cluster star digital stamp from Point and Click onto the gift bag template and turn it into a cutting file to produce the negative cut out on the bag.

3.  Send to your e-cutter and let the machine do the hard work for you.

 4.  Attach part of a PL card  inside the gift bag so the pattern can be seen through the stars.

5.  Assemble the gift bag with Sticky Strip and embellish (I think the photo shows you enough detail to explain how I did that bit).

Enjoy!

Easter's on the Way!

Hi there.  A new box of stamping goodies arrived this week and seeing I had the house all to myself on this rather dull Saturday afternoon, I thought I would give my Berry Basket Die and stamp set, Indescribable Gift, a test run.  I have combined a theme challenge with a colour challenge for my project today -

Lotus Blossom Fold Over Window Card

Hi and welcome to addINKtive designs.  While browsing the net for inspiration I came across a new card fold that I just had to try out straight away.  It's called a Fold Over Window Card and Dawn Olchefske has made a fantastic video tutorial with a few little hints and tips to make it easy to recreate.  The original design by LeAnn Greff from Flowerbug's Ink Spot can be found HERE.

I inked up my Lotus Blossom (three step) Stamp for the first time with Blackberry Bliss, Raspberry Ripple and Wisteria Wonder ink and followed Dawn's basic design, then added a bit of variation with some Venetian Crochet Trim down the side panels and a few Basic Rhinestones to finish it off.

Love, love how it turned out!  I think this card fold will become a new favourite of mine.

Here's a copy of the link to Dawn's blog and video tutorial -

CASE-ing the Catty Challenge #22 - A Sketch from the SAB Catalogue

A Mini Treat Bag for CTC #22

There's a gorgeous card on page 17 of the SAB Catalogue that is the inspiration for this week's sketch challenge at CASE-ing the Catty.  There's a link to the catalogue on my side bar.  It features one of the sentiments from the Simply Wonderful SAB Stamp Set (Free with a $90 (AUD) SU purchase before the end of March) and a butterfly cut from the new Butterfly Thinlits Die (Occasions Catalogue).  I really loved the sample card so much that I CASED the layout -

Here's my take on the sketch -

For my project I decided to attach a cute little flower made from the new Bouquet Bigz Die onto a Mini Treat Bag.

Why don't you pop over to CASE-ing the Catty, check out all the other gorgeous DT projects and join us for this week's sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by,
