Coffee and Soccer and a World of Dreams

Making a card for a bloke is always a tricky assignment for me.  I much prefer adding girly embellishments, pretty pastels and ribbon.  However, I was given the task of making a farewell card for one of our male work colleagues; knowing that he really loves his coffee and isn't a half bad soccer player to boot, this idea seemed appropriate -

A cutting file from the Silhouette Store, the Hexagon Hive Die and a great sentiment from the World of Dreams Stamp Set, made a good combo for a quick and easy card.

TGIF Challenges - Tuesday Throw Down (#tgifctd01)

Hi there, today I am playing along with the first Throw Down Challenge at TGIF Challenges.

Here's the Brief -

I love the idea of throwing a few Stampin' Up! products out there and seeing what you can make from a selected combination.  I don't have the Work of Art Stamp Set or the Hello You Thinlits ... yet ;) so that left me with the remaining four to make something from - Gold Foil, Butterfly Thinlits, Blushing Bride and Blackberry Bliss Ink.  The 'gold' trend is a favourite of mine at the moment as well as the new Watercolor Wings Stamp Set, so I made a butterfly easel card similar to one I created a few days ago.

If you haven't checked out the latest TGIF Challenge Blog, you really should; lots of wonderful talent and gorgeous paper craft samples on display.

Petite Petals Stamp Set

Clear Mount - 133115 ($22.00 AUD)

Petite Petals is one of my 'go to' sets as there's such a variety of flower patterns and they make the cutest embellishments.  I've made two projects to share with you today; the first is an original design and the second is an oldie but a goodie!

I hope you are getting lots of inspiration from the SRC Crew.  Enjoy the hop!

Project 1 - Flowerpot Easel Card

I've seen 3D 'flowerpots' made from the Petal Cone Die but that is now retired stock so I went searching for a substitute. The Envelope Liners Framelits looked like they would do the trick;  I ordered them especially so I could design a Flower Pot Easel Card.  The idea in my head came together quite easily and I'm 'chuffed' with how it turned out.  This card was made with the smallest framelit and I plan to make some more with all three of the dies and write a tutorial.

Of course the Petite Petals are great for making quick and easy flower embellishments especially when you have the matching punch; no fussy cutting required!

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Petite Petals, Kinda Eclectic, Sprinkles of Life
Ink:  Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon, Garden Green
Card Stock:  Cajun Craze, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Basic Black, Silver
Accessories:  Envelope Liners Framelits, Boho Chic Embossing Folder, Tea Lace Paper Doily, Handpicked Framelits Dies, Petite Petals Punch, Bird Builder Punch, PL Corner Punch, Stampin' Sponge, Dimensionals and Glue Dots.

Project 2 - Mini Gift Purse

I love the fact that SU have reintroduced the 6"X6" paper stacks of DSP as it makes making these cute little purses so much easier!  There's very little stamping for this project but the Petite Petals flower makes such a gorgeous embellishment to add to the purse's clasp.

Here's a link to one I made a few year's back and I followed the tutorial from Stamp and Scrap with Frenchie.

Project Recipe:
Stamps:  Petite Petals
Ink:  Watermelon Wonder
Card Stock:  Pool Party, Whisper White, Cucumber Crush
Accessories:  Cherry on Top DSP Stack, Decorative Label Punch, Petite Petals Punch, Bird Builder Punch, Pearl Basic Jewels, 2015-2017 In Color Blossom Accents, Mini Silver Brads

Bold Butterfly Easel Card with Watercolor Wings

Hi there!  Welcome to addINKtive designs; my little corner of the Paper Craft World.  Today I got to play with some brand new goodies that arrived in the big brown box a few days ago and making a new butterfly easel card was my first priority.

My holiday break is only three weeks away so I have started to put together some ideas for future stamp class projects and have written a tutorial for a butterfly easel card that uses a combination of the new Bold Butterfly Framelits and the Butterflies Thinlits Dies, combined with the gorgeous new stamp set, Watercolor Wings.

To celebrate the start of a brand new Stampin' Up! year, every customer (Aussie residents only) who makes a purchase through my on-line store during the month of June 2015 and adds the Hostess Code 2QUG7XJH, can choose one of my tutorials for FREE!  The code must be added to qualify for this free offer.

If that's not possible then my tutorials are always available for purchase HERE.
